Child Seat and Bucket Rears

I am back! After a long hiatus without a Maxima, I just got a 2011 SV Sport.

Here is my first "new" question!

Leather interior, with the rear bucket seats. I have a daughter that is now big enough to use the hybrid car seat with 5 point harness that then transitions into a booster seat. The current seat I have for her is quite wide and bulky.

I want to get a seat that fits better into the "bucket" (with a seat protector for the leather).

What do you guys use?

And for example purposes, here is what I have:
Evenflo Symphony 65

and here is one that I think would work better (and keep her feet off the seat back!)

Britax Frontier

Depending on how tall your daughter is , mine is 4 yold, i keep her on pass side cause MAxima isnt big enough to have her behind me and not kick the seat!
Otherwise we bought Walmart/Sam's booster car seat and works well

What is it about seat backs that makes kids want to get their feet up on them???

Is that booster equipped with a harness while the child is under 40 lbs?

Booster Seat

I just bought the exact same car and installed a Graco in my backseat for my 18 mo. old. The Graco isn't really big and bulky, but gets great reviews. Really quick to install (once you get the hang of it.)

Who has installed a rear-facing seat in the back of their 7th Gen? How far forward do you have to move the passenger seat to accomodate it?

I'm hoping to transfer to a booster soon as well, if you go to nissanusa.com/snugkids there is a PDF of what carseats fit the best in the Max. Could be a good place to start

This is AWESOME information. Never even thought Nissan would put something like this together.

Looks like I will try out the Safety 1st Go Hybrid.

(big girl seat)

I just bought my max and my son who is 4 is no in a booster. I did alot of research and found this seat to be highly rated. It just so happens to fit perfect in the max and matches the interior too...

I'm certified to install car seats and we use pool noodles to get the seat to the right angle when needed. Do you think a short piece of noodle will lift the seat out of the bucket? If you use it, just make sure the noodle is fully compressed. Put your knee in the seat and pull the strap with everything you got...drink a red bull before hand if you need a little extra umpff!

Have a 42lb 2.5 yr Old

This is great info. I have been worried about my leather seats too, as well as the frequent kick to the back of my seat. Great tips!!!

I run that and its a bear. It is very tight. Our rear facing seat is a large one, found that out later, and with the rear buckets it takes up a lot of room. Most of the time my wife sits in the back with our son, 6 months old.

Can't wait for him to get big enough to get the front facing seat. This should help a lot. I will have to save this thread
