you have to remember, those things are heavy as shlt, and wope was right, the SC'ed v-6 would give you a good run.

The Thunderbird is 96 feet long? You can beat him, then.

Here are MT's stats on the '96 Ford Thunderbird LX:

4.6L V8, 4-speed automatic, RWD, 205hp @ 4250rpm and 280lb/ft of torque @ 3000rpm, 0-60 in 7.9 seconds, 1/4 mile in 15.8 seconds @ 88.4mph.

they didn't make a V8SC. the V6 SC can be made to do some amazing things... just don't expect a reliable car.

I have raced one on a two lane highway before and I pulled pretty good on him. He was riding my bumper and as soon as he could he jumped over into the right lane to pass. His front bumper was at my rear passenger door when I downshifted from 5th to 3rd. By the time I shifted into third the thunderbird was even with me and I was able to match his speed so he wouldn't get infront of me. At the end of 3rd gear I was a bumper ahead. When I shifted into 4th gear was when I walked him. I had a good two car lenghts on the thunderbird when I shifted into 5th gear.

Mainly the weight. It has plenty of it to pull around. His curb weight is around 600 pounds more than you.

You will beat him without a problem. I have a 92 T-bird with a 5.0L. Its pretty fast but weighs a ton. After I get out of my bird and get back in to my Max I could swear that the Max feels about half its weight. By the way don't make fun of me for having a ford honestly its a reliable car(not in the winter though).

BTW, my T-bird is a 92 with a 5.0L with dynoed at 234rwhp(I had it for about three years so I modded the hell out of it). 3700lbs
my Maxima is a 99 automatic with only 8,000 miles which I haven't dynoed yet.
