DDM Tuning shipping straight from China now?

Just got my HIDs directly from China, basic packaging and no fancy box like others have received. Should I be worried that I basically got cheap EBay HIDs? The ballast also say nothing.

Understandable, but I'm just making sure I didn't spend $75 for a product I could have got off of eBay for $35. Hopefully they work great and put any worries to rest.

Holy crap, $75?!? What kind of kit did you get, I used to get them for $30 + shipping...

Who said anybody got any fancy boxes? I've ordered from them 4 sets now and they always came in plain white boxes and they work great and have yet to go out unlike others from ebay and such that don't last but a few months at most.

Thats what I was just about to say, unless he decided to get the 55w which are more and are a waste IMO they scatter more and they run too hot, the point of hids was to run less hot with a brighter beam kinda defeats the purpose IMO.

I also thought they were shipped from the store here in the United States but when I got shipping info mine also was coming from China. I will be getting mine tomorrow as they just arrived at the post office this morning. I didn't order the relay harness, didn't think we needed to. Do we need the relay harness?

Same thing I said about this topic a few weeks ago, took 3 weeks to get mine. If I would've know they shipped straight from china beforehand I would have bought elsewhere.

Months ago when I spoke to them they had way more orders then they had in stock and almost all there hid kits were on backorder and they were calling everyone and telling them that it was going to be a while so if you want to cancel you have the option to, maybe they're just shipping str8 from china to resolve this instead of shipping here then shipping them out again.

Installation was a breeze. Sorry I didn't take any pics of the ballast mounting, but there is plenty of space in there.

You got lucky. Mine went to transit in 1 day and sat in the China Rep for 12 days.

Looks good. Did you use zip ties and/ or double sided tape?

Sorry for all the questions but you mounted the ballast right by the fog light housing?

They've had loads of problems with customs and importing HID kits. It was a big deal over the summer. They posted a lot on Facebook about it outlining the problems and what they were doing about it. They actually ended up establishing an office in China and ship them from there. It's the same thing as in the past except they would import them and then ship them from California.

And dude, are you kidding me with the pic in the original post? Learn how to resize your pictures.

DDm Tuning with stock bulbs and 5000K fog lights. The angle doen't do it justice, they look like they match perfectly, which is what I wanted.

Late to the party here: but my DDM Tuning Kit came in a plane white box. I got the slim ballasts. They work great.

So far, so good with mine. I know a pretty box doesn't always mean a great product, but I was expecting different packaging from such a highly recommended company. Either way, I'm happy with the way they look.

How long have you had yours?

Ive had mine since May of 2011. Theyve been on for 12 hours of driving straight at times. Theyve been in 20 degree weather. Theyve been in 105 degree heat. Always worked.

I used to have xentec (ebay $30 kit) they were horrible, they even send me 2 more ballasts, but I still had problems like lights would not turn on sometimes.

Got DDM about month ago for about $50 I think. From their web site. Now problem solved, been driving for about 2 weeks now and HID works all the time. You made a great choice OP.
