4th gen steelies on 1st gen i30

i want to currently take off the 17's i have on my 99 i30t and swap them for maxima stock steelies for the winter. i did that on my old 94 saturn. it had 15x8 rims and it would just float on top of the snow, i found some used 14x5 stock steel rims and put winter tires on them and it was like night and day. i was passing hummers in 6" of snow. im hoping to get kinda the same results with my i30, that would be great. anyone else tried this?

I did that last winter on mine. Same results. Lots of people have a set of winter wheels.

I go with stock sawblades or honeycombs with snow tires for winter (I have both) and they make a huge difference.

14's will clear?

I would venture to say anything that is 5x114 with a 66.1 bore and FWD offset clearance will fit. I'm using 16" Probe GT which has a slightly bigger bore without issue.

Same braking components so any wheels off any 4th gen Maxima will fit every 1st Gen I30, and vice versa
