Okay we all love our maxima's and no matter how much trouble these cars give we still support them. So what are the things that keeps you loyal to the maxima's??

I'll start off with the 265hp 6spd manual transmission

i love how everyone loves the Max... Ive had guys say they didn't think the max was all that until they took a ride with me... My favorite, right now,is the heated steering wheel, we are at about 15 degrees right now.

15 degrees is summer to us man. It's like -18 where I live and it's not even at the coldest yet. We hit -40 and your windshield washer fluid freezes on contact. But yet the heated steering wheel does help

Celcius. Like next month it will be around -40-48 ºC and that's when you want your oil fully topped up, -45 windshield washer fluid, gas must be above 1/4 tank to prevent freezing,if possible a power cord to keep your oil warm for start ups and a good heating system or you will be in trouble.

I like the combination of comfort and power. I came from the Honda crowd and had a modded Integra GsR. The high reving Honda motor is fun but lacked torque and Honda doesn't know what it means to offer it's owner a tad bit of luxury.

I love the sportyness yet luxury of the car. It doesn't feel heavy or sluggish when I drive, pulls hard enough to put me in my seat, yet sits classy and low key.

The stock interior. On essentially every gen it is very pleasing and ergonomically efficient as well. All my Honda friends always say "wow I wish mine looked like that" lol. 4 door sports sedan FTMFW!!!!

Its fast but quiet at the same time. Plenty of room. Don't care about gadgets. The less the better. If my transmission wouldn't be slipping; I would be a very happy man...

The VQ Engine.
Oh and after all this time of trying to blow it up..
It still pushes me back into my seat.

After 450K miles... On the original motor and trans..

/Bi-Winning

But what do i hate about the Maxima?

The GD Radiator Core Support

the 6 speed and the "sleeper-ness" of the car

While it looks clean, mechanical and sporty... but most don't know it can hang with sports cars(esp. with mods).

I just sold my nicely modded JDM swapped Integra GsR and the torque and giddy up that the Maxima has will make a teggy look like it's standing still. I've owned 5 integras (2 DC2 GsRs and 3 LS DA's) and have been apart of the Honda crowd for the last decade. You've gotta put some good money into the B series motors to actually make them move. They may feel great on the "butt" dyno but they don't hang with the torque of the Max.

And I've had the Teg at top speed of 144... it took a while to get there and that was with a JDM B18c with only 60k miles on it and plenty of helpful mods (cams, intake manifold, tuned, intake, etc...)... The pull and ability to put on MPH in the Maxima is alot easier after you hit 100 MPH than it is in a 4 cylinder Integra.

the fact that it looks like you average family sedan, but paired with a manual transmission this thing is wolf in sheep's clothing... A couple of weeks ago my neighbor could not believe that the speedometer shows 160MPH... "He said: Is that original speedometer?" I told him of course it is ... Then he pointed that his 5.slow gt only shows 140MPH... I ended the conversation on the spot without comment to his statement

Thats the mistake of fanboys (I call them that) that have no idea on what they are doing. B series motors are great motors for their time, hell they had no competition besides Nissans SR20... However for todays technology its going to need more then just simple bolt ons.

but what I was getting to orginally its that your comparing a 4cyl to a v6, apples to oranges basically. So my respond to that was come on over and I'll show a 4 cyl that'll embaress ur v6.

Only because it shows 160 on the dash doesnt mean it'll do 160 you know right? I really hope so! there are only a hand few of cars out there that can actually do or surpass its mph cluster with little to no mod.

Point taken but stock vs stock the V6 will trump the 4 cylinder B series Vtec and there is much more to be taken into account than amount of cylinders. The Max has a curb weight of 3540lbs and an Integra has a curb weight of 2598lbs. Obviously the Max would need some more compression or cylinders in order to move it's heavy self so in a sense you can compare the V6 vs a 4 cylinder. Its not like I'm trying to compare the motors performance without it being placed into a car.

The Maxima has a better Power to Weight ratio than the teg.

Are you serious? your not only talking about cylinder difference but also technology difference! Its like comparing an 80's Maxima vs a 10's Maxima... lol Come on lets be realistic here.

Oh and when we talk about statistics I am pretty good at it. If you want to say better just to say it then yes sure, but the difference is so small that its effectiveless... Unless ur comparing it to a LS/GS integra then its just... lol

All the mods that can be done in it.

Engine, intake, brakes, suspension, almost anything can be modified and keep a Luxury-Sporty look.

Also, they VQ30DE-K engine got a lot of potential when you got the money and time for Top Performance modifications (Example: Supercharger... Woooosh!)

One thing I love about my 4th gen is that no one thinks it moved until I drop the hammer and they hear the power of the 3.0 with mods...but I can also tell you that I hate the play in the steering even with new bushing....sucks....oh and my custom Valve cover!

I had an 81 Maxima, it embarrassed many so called superior cars, in acceleration and cornering. Some had only 2 seats or V8 power, so don't start that typical Honda lover stuff about more cylinders.
