I have this setup on my 97 (in addition to a RT cat) and it is very quiet. At WOT is sounds great, and there is no drone, like with the Stillen exhaust. At idle the stillen sounds better, but over all the stillen is just too loud for some people.

I've had stock, stillen, and the Apexi WS, and I like the Apexi the best by far.

I have a WSP y-pipe with the Apexi WS exhaust and I think it's a great setup. Not loud at all, but you'll hear it for sure once you go WOT. Some people think it's not loud enough, but I don't think you want to sound like those fartcans on typical Hondas right?

Cool. SOunds like what I might be looking for not loud but nice. Maybe after Budget releases theres I can compare the two or something. Anyone know what the going rate right now is for the Apexi setup?

Yeah you do. Its not loud really, just a different sound. Much, much nicer than stock.

WHEN ??

I guess the only real way to do this is go to a Maxima meet and listen to a Y-pipe/Apex-i combo and see how I like it...I want to hear a difference than stock but not too much...

Im set what Y-pipe I want but still tossed up on cat-back

Well, trust us. Without keeping the stock muffler (which it sounds like you don't really want to do) the Apexi Catback will be the best choice for you. The stillen and greedy are both going to be way to loud for your taste.

Your other option is to get either a Stillen or Courtesy B-Pipe and keep the stock muffler. Then it will basically sound stock with some added power.

Don't know anything about the N1.

Install is simple...a few nuts and bolts here and there. Nothing a novice couldn't handle.

Well, I can't compare to WS, as I've never been in a car that has one.

On my 99 I have a Stillen and on my 97 I have a Cattman. I don't know that there's a performance difference, but the cattman is countless times quiter than the stillen. The stillen hisses quite a bit. I never could hear the cattman over the CAI in my 97, but I just removed the CAI a few weeks ago, and still can't really hear the cattman pipe. Its really quiet! I don't have wrap on either pipes.

The Cattman pipe is a beautiful piece of work, that was worth every penny in my mind.

Yes.

I've never dynoed, but with my old JetHot Cattman Y pipe I was running 14.8's all summer. I put on the new one and ran constant 14.6's. I didn't see much gain from the CatBack, but as it was one of the last mods that I did, I didn't really expect all that much.

I don't recommend the N1 since it's only available as a universal exhaust. Plus, from what I heard from people that has a N1 and a y-pipe, it's way too loud. I don't know about you, but I like to keep the "sleeper" look and sound. Unless you want everyone to hear you coming, don't get the N1.
