Question about keyless entry

Does anybody know how to boost the long range effectiveness of their keyless entry? I changed the battery on my keyset, but it made no difference. When the car was new, I could be indside my house and lock the doors etc., but now it's like I have to be 10 feet away for it work! Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance...

I used to be able to do it from a block away(no joke), now its not even a foot away, and I got a ghetto battery from Radioshack and it died on the first click Now Im back to the old battery and I can do it from inside the house still just got to hold it longer

hold it longer....never thought of that! Well, I guess it seems like over time they just loose their effectiveness.....there's gotta be a way to make it like new again. Maybe I can supercharge my keys?
