I always found it awesome that companies can take cars and kind of rebuild them into their own. Shelby, Mclaren, Hennesy for some camaro's and even Yenko.
Now my question is- If you could take any maxima (With the team you have hand selected to work on it), what Generation Maxima would it be and what would you do to modify the car? I am saying if this was actually put out on the market and sold in dealerships.
I've always found aggressive sedans to look amazing.
I'm really not to great on the technical aspect of cars, although I do find them fascinating, but I'd probably just give a nice murdered out 4th gen, lip kit, red accents, and a well built engine with a super charger, or a stock 3.5.

Since the title of your thread is about starting a tuning company for Maxima's, and your first post is asking what generation Max you would mod with your "team" I guess I'll somewhat play along.
There currently is a tuning company out there for Maxima's called NWP. And there's a Nissan factory tuning company called Nismo. Shelby has done work over the decades for himself, Ford, and Dodge. Carrol Shelby wanted to design a car back in the early 90's for one purpose, to beat the Corvette, and the Dodge Viper was born.
Personally, I'd like to see Nissan do a Nismo version of the Maxima. However, if they're going to compete in this field, then they're going to have to step up to their game if they want to dance with BMW's M cars, Audi's S cars, and Mercedes AMG cars. Since these are luxury-sports cars, wouldn't a Nismo tuned Infiniti G37 make more sense, instead of a Maxima? Besides, the Maxima has grown to be a large car, and is still front wheel drive and has a CVT transmission. In order for the Maxima to step it up in the performance sedan market, the CVT has to be the first thing to go.
Personally, I'd like to see the next generation Maxima built on the G37 sedan platform, but more performance based rather than luxury. Beefier engine, suspension tuning, brakes, and a 6 speed manual (the G37 has one, so why not?) with a sport tuned 6 speed automatic as an option. And of course, have it priced lower than the G37. Ditch the G's plush interior. Have sport bucket seats, with monochrome or aluminum or even carbon fiber trim. Sure, have things like heated seats and navigation as options, but make the dash layout and controls sport orientated and simple to use. Give it a full gauge package so the driver knows what's going on with his volts and oil pressure.

Here is the G's interior. If the new Maxima is based off the G chassis, I'd ditch the center stack design, including the hideous analog clock with the plastic chrome ring around it. Redesign the dash to be more performance oriented with a gauge package. See where i'm going with this? I hope Nissan executives watch this forum and are paying attention!

What I would like is a Nismo 6th Gen maxima (mostly because I drive a 6th gen
) with the 290 hp 7th gen engine, 19 inch wheels, Nismo suspension, brakes, and a body styling like the 6.5 with a G-ish spoiler. And a 6MT. For the interior I'd want it less luxury and more practical sporty-oriented with bucket seats, gauges, etc.I dunno, I think with the 6th gen that Nissan could've done more to enhance its sportiness but as it came out the year after the 350z and G35 it wasn't their focus. Then came the CVT which I'm not bashing but it is more for comfort and luxury than a normal 5AT or something. Also I was surprised Nissan didn't put the 3.7 VQ in the 7th gen when the new Z and G have it. Here's to hoping the next gen Max has a 3.7 with a 6MT option!
Branching a bit out of topic, but I find the silhouette of the G37 to be quite similar to the 6th gen max.
