22" rims ???

I just bought a 2009 Maxima - It took me a year to find the perfect one for me, but I finally found it..

I love how it looks stock, & I don't plan on making any modifications to it at all except maybe a little darker tint & new wheels (although I really like the stock 18" alloys on it)..

My question is does anyone hav 22" rims on their 7th Gen Maxima?

I've seen a few on CarDomain & they look great. I've seen most cars on here have 20's & are lowered which looks great also, but I do not want to lower my car at all.

& some people will probably say it's a bad idea but when I made a thread 5 years ago about putting 20" wheels on my Accord coupe (in a honda forum) people thought I was crazy & it would be a horrible ride.. But they turned out great & the ride was not bad.

I prefer functionality before looks myself.
Check out the other posts on this site that discusses this and other wheel modifications.

i have 22s and lowered on springs no issues at all i love when people that how no idea say it effects functionality when it has no problems at all driving, turning ,and getting up to speed i have done 115mph on the track with them on they stop fine on stock brakes and are only 10lb heavy then stock wheels only really problem i have is i lose 2mpg on 22s vs factory.

The only thing it will really affect is the ride quality.

22x8.5 with 245/30 is good for me with 35 offset.

Id stick to 20".

so many negative things involved with 22" like more expensive tires.

and as if 35 series wasn't thin enough, you will need a insanely thin 30 series tire.

Thanks for the input Car Addict.. I've been debating on getting either 22's and not messing with the suspension at all or getting 20's and lowering it. I'd come out cheaper with the 22's and being down south I'm a big fan of BIG wheels so I'm leaning more toward the 22's.

I got a couple questions for you..

How much different is the ride compared to the stock wheels? As far as smoothness, speed, etc.? I'm sure there's a little difference in your MPG?

Also.. is that the stock grille on your Max? It looks like it has chrome/silver in the background mesh rather than black? or is that just how the sun is hitting it in the picture?

The ride is pretty much the same. The only difference is when I hit a pothole or go over some really messed up pavement I can feel it more. But on the average street it feels the same. Speed is a slight difference from a standstill but I can still easily squeel the tires if I floor it from a stop. From a roll it feels the same to me. Braking feels the same during normal driving. With handling there is a tiny bit less oversteer. This is comparing the 18s.

Grill is stock.
