K&N Typhoon or Injen SP1947
K&N Typhoon or Injen SP1947 Short Ram Intakes
I found a store selling both of these short ram intakes for the same price. Not sure which one to choose. Does anyone have anything good to say about either one of these intakes? Which one would you guys suggest? I looked on the Injen and K&N websites and the Injen claims to add up to 8 HP and the K&N says it adds 13.25 HP. If I was buying based on horsepower increases alone the answer would be obvious. Is there anyone that can give me some insight on the better one and why it is better other than HP.

Well... if I was looking to a SRI, I would buy a Takeda short ram.

Stillen is good also... They designed an intake for our cars.
I think one of the members here, Ghozt has a Takeda intake. Him and only a couple people have a legit CAI.

Thanks
Thanks for your response. Ghozts car sounds like a jet taking off, thats nuts. Love it...I was looking at those brands as well but a local shop has the 2 that I listed for a really good price so I was wondering if anyone had experience with either of them.

Save your money and go with the panel (stock type) K&N filter. You get increased flow (and HP) over the stock Nissan filter without the HP killing underhood hot air induction from SRI's.
Or do like ghozt and build a true CAI.

in general most of the short ram intakes are the same, i think your best bet if you go that route would be the Injen with the dry Amsoil filter. Amsoil filters are some of the best you can use, and dry filters will avoid getting a CEL that sometimes happens when oil from an oiled filter gets on your MAF sensor. Also Injen "claims" to have some technology that tunes their intake, I have no idea what in the world that is or if it works but I had an Injen on my last car it was great.
I've owned an R2C and Takeda, they were about the same in terms of sound and performance, part of the reason why I got bored put the battery in the trunk and built the CAI off the Takeda. highly highly recommended but obviously takes a little bit of work. also that turbine sound you hear is the dyno, the rest though is all VQ

if the diameter of the opening is the same yeah you can use any filter. the K&N ones I usually have gotten are oiled but check out their site they may have dry ones.
the one that comes with the Takeda SRI is also a dry filter, part of the reason I used that to build my CAI off of
