How much for a 5 speed swap.

I have a friend with close to 2000 cash, and he's thinking about doing a five speed swap on his 96. How much would your average one cost?
Let me now

I would think its around 12-15 hours of labor. Another thing it may have a CEL from the auto harness.

I would price all parts out first.

Clutch/flywheel
Clutch master/lines
Clutch pedal/neutral safety switch (and wiring)
Axle's (maybe both or 1)

tell your buddy to just get a 5spd max unless he has one that is unbelievably clean/low mileage.

If you were to get someone to do it for you like a shop, and you have no parts, how much would it cost?

Seriously man??? this has sooooo much fail written all over it.

1) No shop will do the swap and warranty it
2) Without a warranty, why would u let a shop do the work
3) if your friend cant do the work himself, he shd not attempt the swap as issues are bound to arise later
4) A shop WILL rape u in labor for attempting the swap
5) $2k is another 5spd max
6) the list goes on and on and on.........

Neal, why didnt u lock this nonsense thread?

EDIT:

I thought of some more reasons lol:

7) parts alone is gonna cost more than $2k
8) Is the car even reliable enough to warrant a swap
9) Does your friend have a good trusty mechanic
10) If he doesnt have a good mech, is he willing to let jus anyone work on his

Yo man... just find a 5spd max and sell the AT max
