custom sub enclosures??????

Looking into having a custom made to fit fiberglass sub enclosure. I am kind of looking for ideas. I dont need to crack teh pavement with Bass. My goal is to have a real custom look without losing all of my trunk space. Anybody have some real custom work done on the 7th gen??

Nobody makes one but I'd like a 12inch sub to fit in the side of the trunk.

any sub can potentially make the car rattle. Just gotta add dynamat or something equivalent.

why don't you buy my whole kicker competition package

http://forums.maxima.org/7th-generat...r-package.html

I have everything needed to install on a 09-11 Maxima including sub in box, amp, and wiring kit with control and fuse box for a fraction of what you will pay. Total I spent just under $900 brand new. Everything is 100% working order, and still has warranty. The compeitition series kicker subs are very clean hitting and and give you plenty of range. Shoot me a PM and I can give you more details if you might be interested. I can send you pictures of it in the trunk as well.

Gotta love the flower pattern right?!?! (just a cheap blanket that I knew was getting destroyed) All it needs is trunk carpet and it's done. Didn't want to do any Vinyl and paint work because it's still a functioning trunk and I don't want to be repainting or re-vinyling due to scratches. Keeping it simple this time around. But everyone to can do their own thing as they choose. Will post pics once carpeted with the sub installed. Enjoy!

Very nice good job. I wish I could do stuff like this. This is what I'm looking for exactly. Where do you plan on mounting your amp?

Finished product. I plan on mount the amp under the rear deck. Underneath the carpeted cover has plenty of room to mount a JL Audio amp due to its size.

Smile Project Complete

Finally Finished my project. I had been looking for something like this, but nothing really came up online. The locals wanted 400 each which is way too much. It took some time, but I just did them myself. It wasn't that cheap either. I sound dampened the entire trunk, well most of it. Still rattles behind the back seat but its not noticeable much.

I actually thought about gauging interest in actually making a couple more boxes preloaded with the same jl sub. I still have the other side prepped and ready to do the other side as well. Just haven't decided if i want just one or two subs.

$400 for glass work on both sides isn't bad actually. I find that very reasonable and I'm sure u found out that buying materials is pretty pricey if u buy the right stuff.

I really don't know. The sub is roughly $250 bucks from an AUTHORIZED DEALER which will be under warranty (tracked by serial numbers).

I figure about 450 a side for a quality box and quality sub.

In total I spent about 400, that is also because i bondoed the entire two enclosures. They were definitely worth the time and effort. I spend all of a weekend both of them. They are loud, the bass is deep and pure. My next upgrade would be a JL audio W6 but I'm waiting until I get tired of these first. They are the Kicker 10" CVXs. They hit hard. I accidentally put a hole in one of them trying to drill it into the box, but I siliconed the inside and the outside of the hole with a thin layer and they are working just fine. Got lucky.

I only use fiberglass unless I'm doin paint or wrapping in vinyl then I use bondo just to smooth it out. But u do need ur boxes to be very stout for some W6's.

How did u measure to make sure u had the right airspace? The boxes might be too big for W6's.

I filled it up with sand and then calculated from liters to cubic feet. How did you do it?

Packing peanuts that I have in a 12x12x12 box equals 1 cubic foot. Only need .65 so use just over half the box. I do this often so the box def helps every time.

I can tell your level of Maturity by your fecal comments/insults.

Next time try and take it up a level. Your are only making yourselves look immature and childish by calling names and insulting etc. I simply made the comment that there is an audio section of this forum. That is all. Don't read so much into it.

It is just a trunk. It's not like the 7th gen trunk is so much different from any other car. Not like a 350z or some where you are super small area to work with. But hey if you want your thread here so be it.

I don't see why you tried to turn this into a flame fest.

How old are you anyways? I am always curious to find grown adults talking like teenagers on the internet.

Did you not notice the "Custom Sub Enclosures" title?? Key word being "Custom". That means we are talking about the 7th gen maxima, not a 350z, 6th, 5th,or 4th gen maximas, just the 7th. That's why the OP posted it here. BECAUSE HE IS ASKING FOR SOMETHING SPECIFIC! NOT GENERIC!

I don't get why you even felt the need to post on the this thread in the first place. The thread is 6 months old! If the mods felt the need for it to be in the audio section then he would have moved it there.

I'm so tired of the ignorance on this forum. The mods are terrible at letting people like you and a couple other "bright" individuals come on here and ruin threads and aggravate those who are really on here trying to provide help and knowledge to other people with less experience or knowledge on a topic.

I'd like to know how old you are as well, cuz obviously you have way too much time on your hands if you're providing useless info on the forums.

A custom fiberglass enclosure in a 7th gen's trunk is VERY similar to any other maxima's trunk. Audio section has much more experience and knowledgeable people relating to custom audio solutions for maximas. Period.

Have fun, you are the only one who is angry and calling people names.
