Anyone using the Spectre Performance 884309 hpR Air Filter?
Thoughts or opinions about this filter and does it actually fit. Seems to be better priced than the K&N filter. Any mpg increase?

With this note popping up on the Amazon website I would stay away from it.
"We need more information to verify that this product fits your specific 2009 Nissan Maxima".
I bought the K&N and I know that it fits correctly and actually believe the performance gains they claim. Not to mention the warrantee

Like I said I would rather stick with company known for their products.
These are probably Chinese made K&N knockoffs.....
FYI...I purchased some cabin air filters from Amazon with the statement saying they would fit my 2010. After taking the stock filter out it wasn't even close to the same size. Had to send them back.

Personally I'd only buy high quality filters from a brand name like K&N. Cheaper filters usually means cheaper materials and you don't want bits of material from a cheaply made filter being sucked into your engine. It's not that much more money I'd just go K&N honestly bro

I have an K&N drop in filter and I did notice the engine having a sightly louder rumble when I accelerate... As far as gas, I only seen a 1-2 mpg raise. For performance, none... still drives the same... I got my K&N filter from Advanced auto parts BTW...

I did both the K&N panel filter and y-pipe install at about the same time. I can actually say I feel both a slight performace increase and sound difference over stock. The K&N was oiled but not anywhere to the extent it would cause an issue with the MAF sensor. I even tried to wick away any extra oil from the filter before installing but could not indicating it was very lightly oiled.

Spectre is based out of Cali... They're featured on PowerBlock a bunch (although it could just be a sponsorship) so they're probably decent.

like I said, they seemed decent but I didn't say they weren't cheap knock-offs. I wasn't buying it so I went off what I knew. It sounded like you were just saying they were knock-offs before researching and knowing that they were.
