Auto Transmission Q...

I read on another website that the Max transmission is weak in comparison to other automatic transmission. Should I take any precaution for protecting the transmission, being I'm adding performance parts, and increasing power?? If so, what can I do to prolong the life of my transmission?

Thanks,
Jason

its called a VB (valve body) re calibration. It shortens the shift time between gears so less wear on parts. www.mobletek.com

4th gens have a rather robust ATX. Yes, you can break it if you try, but in normal use they last a long time. For abnormal use, use synthetic ATF (changed every 30k miles) and add a cooler.

You might also want to flush/change your anti-freeze every 6 months, and use a bottle of Redline's Water Wetter coolant additive, whereas it helps keep the overall temps down. You can't beat the costs! In addition keep doing drain/refills using "synthetic fluids" aforementioned by another member. 96se 157,800 miles original tranny, and it shifts smooth as silk! For further inquiry go to www.redlineoil.com and www.amsoil.com Good Luck!

The Nissan transmission is fine. Pounding on any transmission will kill it. The Honda and Toyota's transmissions are no better or worse. BTW, you do realise that Nissan doesn't actually make the transmission...
