Aftermarket rear spoiler

So I am thinking about buying and installing an aftermarket rear trunk spoiler for my 5.5 Maxima. I have been looking at one from CARID that can be ordered painted the same color as my car ($169.99 w/shipping included). Anyone else done this? I was wondering about their quality. I bought one for my wife's Acura, but it came right from a Honda dealer in Virginia, installed easily and looks factory. Any suggestions?

Im afraid to touch this one. In all honesty I think you are spending $170 that does no good for the car.

It's not necessary for a FWD car. It's not necessary because of the speeds you travel. It's not necessary if it's a daily driver. It's not necessary because it isn't a race car. I don't want to crap all over your idea but these are just off the top of my head. The factory spoiler on these cars looks decent and I would prefer to take mine off for a cleaner look and better aero, however it looks "okay" enough for me not to bother.

I would suggest spending that $170 on maintenance or on a modification that has a much better benefit for the car.

You're not trying to put one of these bookshelf looking spoilers on your maxima are you? If you are, make sure you send us a picture of it so we can post it in the "photos of your local ricers" thread.

^^^^ hahaha my thoughts exactly. but in all seriousness post a pic of the spoiler first or even if you can find a pic of a car with one already on it.

It's supposed to be an OE style like they put on from the factory. Not looking to turn it in to a cop magnet, just spruce it up a little. You can see what they look like on their website, www.CARID.com .

WTF, you ask what it would look like but dont show what spoiler you're considering?

Then you link a website that stocks a whole pile of spoilers for the 5th gen maxima, without saying which one you want?

Thread Fail.

Its your car, if you like the way it looks, go for it. As for the function of a spoiler...there are tons of mods that have no actual performance gain but are done all the time. He said the OE style and there is only one choice for OE style so a pic wasn't really needed. But the OP didnt actually ask how it would look or what we thought of his choice, so as for OPs actual question regarding the quality of the source, the reviews look good. I have no personal experience with them though.

Thanx for the input guys, I am still kicking around the idea or maybe going with a dash kit instead. This thread is now done.
