should I switch to the 97-99 bumpers?

I know I could use the search on this because it have been discussed before, but I just want some fresh opinions, so I hope you moderators will pardon me this time. Thanks.

I need some opinions. I have a '96 Maxima with the Stillen SMX grill. I have added the 97-99 headlights, clearance lenses, and diamond cut bumper lenses. I am thinking of completing the look by getting a '97-99 front bumper with the SE(non chrome one)grill. What do you think? I am planning to get a bodykit soon too.

How about the rear bumper? How hard is to switch the bumper so I can use the 97-99 tail lenses? I can just get the 97-99 rear bumper right, what else do I need?

Thanks.

No.

Its my personal opinion, but I like the look of the 1995-1996 bumpers much more than that of the 1997-1999. Plus, the Stillen lip for the 1995-1996 bumpers is very appealing and I honestly don't think I can say the same for the 1997-1999. Not to mention it is not quite a direct bolt on thing, there is a little trimming modification required to make the bumper fit correctly. But its your choice, do as you please.

When I replied to your SC belt a couple days ago, I was checking your sig and your SMX grille stuck out. I had one of those moments where you say "If that were my car I would do this" type thought. The thought was to put your stock grill back on. I did not realize you had the bumper swap. It would look really clean with the SE bumper. SMX looks kinda like a GTP or something. Maybe you can mesh out the 97-99 grill, that would be hot on your car. Paint the mesh black as well.

i think the exact opposite, 97-99 is sportier and i like the lip for it much more, but if i were u i would wait and get shadows bumper, unless you want to keep the oem look

the 97-99 bumper definitely looks a lot better (aggresive?). next summer when i do the paint job i'm also changing the bumpers/trunk/lights for both the front and rear to the 97-99 style.

I agree, the 97 front ends look really agressive. Especially with the stillen front lip. I would say change it ifyour going for looks, but thats a lot of money that you can use on other mods.....

Well, if I do it, I might just do the front bumper. The rear bumper can wait.

I almost forgot about Shadow's kit will be a whole bumper replacement. I think I better wait to see how the kit will look like first before I make my decision.
