Extremely Annoying Stillen Y-Pipe Noise
Extremely Annoying Stillen Y-Pipe Noise
I have a 96 SE 5 speed, and I've had my y-pipe on since this summer. When just driving anywhere above 30mph, there is an annoying drone/buzz. I wrapped the flex pipe in header wrap today, and it didn't seem to help. Any ideas to fix this problem? Anyone else have this? Thanks

Re: Extremely Annoying Stillen Y-Pipe Noise
I got my stillen y before you, so I guess you have the same ceramic coated one I do. I never get a drone but do get a hiss at full throttle after 4500 rpm in every gear. If you hear rattles when the car is idle or get a drone at low rpm, the pipe is probably not installed correctly. This happened to me when a bad mechanic didn't put my exhaust together properly when installing my short throw shifter. I got the drone and rattle, and hiss at low/mid rpm. Midas of all places fixed it. My exhaust is otherwise stock.
