complete strut assembly for 3rd gen.

Does anybody make a good "complete strut assembly" for the 3rd generation of Maxima. I have a 93 Maxima Gxe and Monroe does make it. Seems like only back to 4th generation. Looked on some other mfg and same story. Are they the larger brands made by the same people?

Tokico HP series (blue). they used to have some for the front, quit making them evidently. still have them listed for the rear, but are listed on sale at about 60% off, which surely means they're being discontinued as well.

so ummm, sounds like KYB GR2 are your only bet anymore if you want a decent strut assembly.

either that, or try to find some Koni or Tokicos sitting in a warehouse somewhere. (slim chance...)

Hi Matt,
Who sell them?
A while ago you mentioned that drill out the knuckle from a 12 mm hole to 14mm hole. How long does that take and any special drill bit (if hardened stamped steel to go through)?

While looking over the area, the steering ends need replacing. Anything else that goes bad about this time? I would rather do it ahead than be surprised.

Check the rubber bushings on the ends of the sway bar. They have to be replaced from time to time.

BTW, The complete strut assembly includes the springs. Everything is put together, so a spring compressor is not needed. They usually are less money than buying the parts individually. I can't find them for neither the 93 Maxima nor 2003 Sienna.

In another thread somebody found brand new in the box Tokico blues performance shocks for sale on craigslist. These are probably one of the last sets unused for the 3rdgen Max...I'd scoop then up if I was looking for new struts myself. Here's the link for the thread.
New Tokico Suspension... Where was this a month ago??
