Hello all. I've searched and searched for a answer on this but cannot find one. My Maxima has the factory car alarm, but for whatever reason I cannot get it to work. The Key fob works. It locks/unlocks doors. It used to pop the trunk but for whatever reason the trunk only opens with a key now. But the Panic button nor the security light works. What can I look for to fix this?

Well, see the security light won't even come on. Which makes me believe that it's not even armed :/

Sounds like the valet lock is set on the trunk/ Thats why you can only open it with the key. Open the trunk and pull the lever up on the latch.
As for the security light not coming on. Its possible that the led is burned out or someone forgot to plug it in when accessing the gauge cluster.
Try this...roll your windows down, set arm the alarm, wait a minute then reach inside and unlock the car at the interior door handle and open the door. If the alarm/horn goes off its working.

 

Only thing that happened was that the interior light came on. That's it.
