Question for those with an upgraded fuel pump...

Does the high flow pump affect fuel economy?

Or does the ECU correct for the higher pressure by shortening the injector pulsewidth during closed loop operation?

Ben you are too technical and engeeringly advance for me like Nauman is..

so i will explain it to you ghetto..

The Fuel Pump doesn't affect my fuel economy at all.. only an increase in Fuel Pressure is experience from 43 PSI at WOT to 50 PSI at WOT.. but the ECU corrects everything so the engine is not Flooded at all..

As long as the oem pressure regulator is able to keep the fuel pressure the same as stock, the engine will not know it has an upgraded pump. Only the regulator will have to work harder to keep the fuel pressure at stock.

Now if your pump overwhelms the oem pressure regulator, then yes you will be feeding the engine more fuel per injector pulsewidth. I would say the o2 sensor would eventually compensate in closed mode.

But if you pressures are over stock in cold start or in wot, the 02 sensor is outa of the equation. Now you will be running rich during those times.

i thought it would go down about 2MPG but it actually got better for some reason. maybe my old pump was tired, who knows. but it got better.

On another note: That video of you racing Yo_its_ok was an awesome advertising campaign for your tail clearing business lol . Congrats on the kill.
