How do you know whether your Blower Motor Resistor is bad. On my 96 max I have a loud uncomfortable blowing sound on fan speed 4. Is this related by any chance?

Does your speeds 1,2,3 work? If not than buy a blower motor resistor if all speeds works you need a new blower motor

blower motor resistor

I have a 97 that only blows air at 4.....A blower motor resistor sounds like the fix.
How hard is it to install?

Just replaced mine two weeks ago. Bought one from Autozone for under 30 bucks. Install took less than a minute.

Heres a tutorial I found on YouTube that you can use as a guide to replace it.
