5.5 to 5.0 IACV, WOULD IT WORK?

After visiting two of the Pull-A-Part locations here in GA, I came across a 2000 3.0, that was completely stripped, (with a human turd in the back seat) but found the ecu intact (but the numbers didn't match up). So I mosy on to the next location and found a max with the motor intact because the front end was scorched and melted (waiting to exhale moment, maybe?) with no ecu. I have one more location to visit but has only 2002, and 2003. My ecu hasn't experienced the burn, so would I be able to take the IACV from either models and insert into my 2000 3.0? Would it work effectively?
I would hate to have to send my max to live at the Pull A Part myself, and sell the Cattman 3" Exhaust: y-pipe to the tip set that I never got to install...
but I will...
