James, that looks like it's for a RWD setup. This is for our setup:

Ok kool. Now I have a problem. Is using a stock nissan t-stat the only way to go? I bought the oreilly t-stat but my gage went to half way on my gage and then there is no heat. I do have the car at an incline to help ther bleeding of the system so is the nissan t-stat a must in these cars?

i dont' think it should matter but i do know there are 2 different t-stat for our VG. I usually buy the t-stat at the dealer, its a few dollars more at the dealer but you know its an OEM part and you can never go wrong with OEM on any car.

I've never had a VG and don't know anything about them so that may be the RWD setup for all I know

The diagram makes it look so easy.

We've got a 1994 and it never has warmed up all the way, even with a sheet of cardboard blocking a lot of the radiator.

I'm thinking about replacing our thermostat - though the left front wheel well I would think -

How big of a job is it?

Its not that bad of a job even though I am not done yet. Just moving some of the wiring and such isnt to bad. i am picking up the t-stat in the am. The location of the t-stat is more accessible from the top than the wheel well housing.

Well the t-stat is done right along with the radiator cap. The car has heat now and I did the inclined bleed for the cooling system and it seems to be good for now will have to check the system in the am hopefully.

I haven't had to do the inclined bleed in a long time... but i also had a few things bypassed (throttle body, UIM) so that might have something to do with it. My bleed valve on the UIM no longer does anything.

Damn talk about a finicky car to work on, damn....I thought my Integra was bad but these nissans are certainly a horse of a different color. Now I am going to have to take the radio out so I can work on the heater control unit because the lighting in it keeps dimming on it and then no heat, but as soon as I put my fingers on the harness that plugs into it the illumination comes back on and the heat starts to work again....ya the joy of wiring...not

Yes I have the auto climate control. Well after taking the console apart this morning I am very unhappy with what I found. The wiring harness plugs and the male connections on the unit are all corroded. I took the unit apart to clean it the best I can and then put some corrosion spray in it for a bit and wiped it clean as much as I could get out. And so far the unit is working well but I think I will still be looking for a new or a better used one to replace it with...
