im thinking about buying some ebay all black universal jdm racing seats. has anyone tried to install these seats before? or can any other generation seats fit on a 3rd gen? i found a 3 gen at a junkyard with black leather seats so i bought it and now i want to change my front seats. its either get the racing seats or custome vinyl work on the front seats.. which ever is cheaper.

 

i had legit Sparco in mine, only problem youre gonna have is finding aftermarket seat brackets. Sparco discontinued them for 3rd gens, i dont know about Corbeau. i ended up getting my factory seat rails welded to make it work. if i were to do it again i would just do leather seats

 

nothing that's actually marketed on Ebay as "JDM" is actually truly JDM by the way. It's all junk made in China and sold everywhere, not made in or exclusively for Japan. That's true of everything, not just seats. So don't pay more for it because it says "JDM", it's all lies.

Well said, very well said!! I've seen windshield wipers advertised "JDM". What the hell is the difference, other than your paying more for a part than you can go to your local parts house and get

 

or "JDM" tail lights with red blinkers (or combined brake/blinker function) instead of amber blinkers. Amber is mandatory in Japan, and 99% of the other countries on the planet, except for US and maybe Canada and Mexico.

 

I feel like you are making a decision you might regret later...

1. Cheap ebay seats will look like a bag of smashed a$$ within a year...
2. There is a company called cypher auto that makes a decent seat, that wont fall apart and look like crap... and the company that makes em also makes brackets.

If you must MUST MUST get racing seats in your car, dont get crap. Spend the green, get the good stuff. There are a few forums that you will be able to find good seats. Get ready to do a little fabrication tho.

 

i think older domestic vehicles combo the brakes and signal lights for the back usually, i think my Supra has amber in the rear

mine were only 900 i think for the pair new i would get a decent brand like Recaro, Bride, or Sparco. check Craigslist and see if you can get some used ones

also like Cadaver said JDM is just used as a keyword by Ebay sellers because ricers flock to anything with JDM in the title lol
