Dual Bixenon Projector Headlight Build Complete!

*Moderators, please move this thread if this is the inappropriate place.*

Just completed another set of headlights, this time for a 99 Nissan Maxima. Just wanted to share. I'm pretty pleased with em. Let me know what you think.

For full build process and more pictures, check out:

But to get a REAL feeling for em, check out the youtube video:

Rock on guys!

Very nice! A year is a long time to wait for headlights though. Lol. But still very cool. And it might belong in the members rides section, but I'm not sure. Either way, still pretty awesome. Good job.

Thank you very much!

haha, no doubt. I made mine in about 2 months back when I was in college but they weren't nearly as involved as these. Since the objective was quality and cheap, "quick" went out the window and I just had em as a side project whenever I had downtime. Thankfully, the shop has been extremely busy and finding free time to work on the things was few and far between.

Aflion: I don't discuss client's budgets publicly, but I will say this: he got the type of deal you'd expect for a year turnaround. Cheap enough that he isn't complaining about the wait. :-)

Garrett: Thankya thankya.

BlackThorn: gladly! I rather enjoy this type of fabrication work.

Mista: thank you very much sir.

Wow, that is an excellent setup, great work! I hope it is going on a show car and the owner posts pics of the ride. Those lights are waay too fancy to be put on a "regular car". I would have done the shield mod on the driving projectors so it would have a flare of color at the top of the cutoff.

maxgtr2000: Thanks man! To my understanding, this car is a daily driver. And he's a rather active member of this forum... but he shall remain in the shadows until he decides to come forth and reveal himself! He's comin into town tomorrow so we can install em, I can't wait to get some installed pictures myself. As for being a show car, I'd love to have his car be my demo vehicle at Spring Break Nationals next year, but there's a LOT of work to be done before now and then to make that happen so I'm not putting all my eggs in one basket yet.

Fatboy: thankya thankya!

Leo: oh you fancy huh? Thanks!

Chrisman: lol, no idea what you just said. If you're talking about the projector lens assembly, the NY hackjob guy selected and "installed" those. I just had to make em work.

99zx2: yessir, a couple hours of week here and there gets things done!

getmaxout: ruh roh! I ain't trying to step on anyone's toes here. Biggest issue I have presently is I have little to no clue how to price something like this out but I intend on learning. Most of what I do is fabrication and electronics on, say, trunks, dashes, or doorpanels... not headlights. But I do love some practical applications of technology!

Been getting a few calls recently and a lot of PMs/emails since this was originally posted.

To clarify:
I currently run a vehicle personalization shop full time out of Tarpon Springs, FL. I specialize in 12V electronics (mostly audio systems) and fabrication but also do a lot of upholstery work and lighting systems. So, YES, I would love to build you a set of custom headlights. Pricing for a headlight similar to these would be around $1200 due to the complexity of the install. A standard projector lens retrofit starts around $200 plus materials and goes up from there with additional options. Tack on the cost of s&h both ways and you may or may not have a local fab shop of comparable skills to do the work for you. For comparison, my local market dictates that $600 out the door is a fair market value for any basic headlight mod.

I strongly recommend you research me and my quality of work before deciding to contract me. My past/current work is readily available at www.facebook.com/SuperiorMobile or at my terrible website: www.13r1an.com

Or you may contact me directly with questions at SuperiorMobile13@gmail.com or 321.960.7263.

Thanks for your interest. I absolutely love doing this type of work and am always looking for fun projects.

.... oh yea. And I currently own a 4th Gen i30t and 6th Gen Maxima. I also absolutely love these cars.

Spectacular work, I love the idea you came up with for the corner lamp LED Ring. Never seen anything like that... Excellent job.
