I am a Car ****.

Welp, here I am, again posting some new pics of the new whip...
this is the first "controversial" car I have purchased, albeit it's still amazing.

So without further delay...

Its a pretty cherry 1989 Mustang, it has 57k miles on the clock not bad right? Its a GT so it has all the amenities that go with it on the exterior. It has replica chrome Cobra wheels. But on to the good stuff...

!!!!

If you didn't say "GAWDDAMN!" after looking at that engine... check your pulse, you are dead.

For your consideration (before all you playa-hata's start up on da ford hate)

It has:
Rock roller cams
Edelbrock Intake manifold
Quikfuel blow through carb
Powerdyne Supercharger
373 gears
full length tubed headers.

I don't care if you like imports, europeans, or domestics, even if you drive a prius (or will soon...*cough* maybe mr.gone *cough*....) you have to respect the amount of horsepowah that is putting to the blacktop.

The interior is a wee bit off, needs to seat upholstery and the steering wheel seems to be upside down...

All in all. A super clean ride with that cammed rumbly v8 goodness that makes you feel like all is right in the world.

Is the engine still stock bottom end? Stock heads? How much horsepower are you expecting that setup to make? Just curious.

If you need a smaller pulley for that Powerdyne LMK. I got a 2.93" aluminum pulley here that would look nice under that radiator hose lol

Must pull like mad as is.

Yeah stock bottom end and heads. Just the cams n lifters inside the engine.

I am hoping for about 350 to the wheel... That would make me happy. From what I understand about the 302 it starts failing after about 400whp...

I am gonna get her dialed in at a dyno once I find one around here... so I will have numbers to see exactly what she is putting down.

what kinda gain would I expect from a smaller pulley?

It pulls like a pitbull chasing a bunny rabbit. She goes.

Hmm well the 2.93" is usually 10-11lbs IIRC.

So it would be a mild increase... not to bad eh? I will keep you in mind sir, I would like to get a handle on things now before I go haphazardly slapping upgrades on it before I understand how she really works, and how to take care of her. Maintenance > Modding... you know the deal yo!

How long did you have that 240? 3 days?

I'm actually surprised you traded your SR20 powered 240 so quickly. I am looking forward to your new car purchase thread next week.

nice pick up duuuude.

One look at the wiring in that engine bay and I'd have walked though. Usually wiring is an overall indication of the quality and time that was spent on the rest of the car, hopefully that is NOT the case for this car, for your sake.

Either way those cars are awesome, and must be respected. I love fox bodies.

Yup, a mild increase. Nothing over the top. You probably have a 3.33" pulley around there.

First thing I would do is an oil change.

Thanks for the heads up mang, yeah I noticed alot of the wiring is kinda "spaghetti bowled." I am gonna check black and red wires on that stuff. Alot of that is the 3 aftermarket gauges on the inside, and the big azz tach on the dash, I am fairly sure I can clean that all up without too much hassle... you remember the wiring on my 86? Holy crap! if that can get cleaned up this will be a cakewalk.

Already flushed all fluids (minus tranny fluid)

she has a nice royal purple 10w30 in there for the upcoming summer months. Radiator been flushed and refilled, brakelines checked and bled slightly, and she got a nice bath and hand wax.

Nice pickup, not a big Fan of Mustangs but do respect the Domestic Powerhouses, and them like 02-03 Cobras are always on Beast status, u should post some Vids of some Rev Ups or Fly By Vids when you can...

haha, I still own a very very nice maxima man... I just came to terms with the fact that a maxima will always be "fast for a maxima..." nothing wrong with that, but my fox body is just plain fast.

so, can we just say I am a "car guy?"

AHAHAHAHAHAHA!

so funny story, about that. I was sitting at a red light on my way to work, and this red del slow pulls up next to me... I am just chillin in my car no worries, and I look over at this guy just mean-muggin me like I had c*ckslapped his grandma... and I realize that he is trying to rev at me, but my car is so loud with its "Blop blop blop blop" cams and no exhaust... that I can't even hear it in my car... so I give the guy the hand cupped ear and look of confusion, and then proceed to laugh and laugh and laugh, he took of like a del sol... and I couldn't stop laughin...

moral of this story...

Don't rev at the guy who can't hear you... you are just embarrassing yourself.
