4th Gen headers upgrade, need help though..

Hey everyone, I'm trying to swap out my stock manifolds and y pipe with budget Shorty headers and new y pipe, my problem is that I have no idea how to get to all the bolts holding the rear manifold, and it looks like it will still be hard to get it out after its loose, can anybody out there give me instructions to finish this please? Thank you!

If you can get the engine lifted it becomes easier. Headers on the 4th gen are an absolute pain in the butt. But if you're friend has a cherry picker, or engine lift use it. Or spend the money for a shop to do it.

From: in my max, pa. :p
aackshun, you need to come down to pa and do my engine/suspension/exhaust. i hate my current exhaust, and my suspension is def gonna need it soon, and my engine, well, its had work done to it, but i have 245,000 miles on it and know one around here is trust worthy enough to do the rebuild. and the ones that are are wayyy over-priced.

No (I can probably think of 3-4 reasons why you'd want to pull the motor over leaving it in for a 4th gen maxima, this is not one of them).

Only if you're a first timer.

No.

That'll cost more than buying the headers.

Come DOWN to PA?

This is a PM conversation, not this poor guy's thread

You wont need to lift/drop the engine at all for shorties. I managed to take everything out without removing any mounts. Just takes a lot of time figuring out how to position your ratchet to be able to get the bolts out (especially rear manifold) and just how your going to get the rear manifold out but its easy yank it from the bottom or just hit it from the top and it will fall out the bottom wont damage anything.
