Hi,

I just got a 98 GXE, auto, with 170k miles from a buddy. A good tune up & new front tires are due but I hope it'll give me 1-2 yrs of worry free driving.

Quick q, what is the rubber hose that connects the engine block to the air intake/MAF box? It is snapped at the base on the air filter housing at the moment.

welcome to the org, you can find alot of usefull information using the search feature, But I think the hose you are referring to is called a breather hose if it connects to the valve cover, and then to the air intake box.
