I got a couple questions....tranny, axels

Ordered my parts for an all around tune up, but i have a couple questions for the 4th geners...anyway i ordered a tranny screen for my 98 gle but ive been reading alot of threads and found a couple that stated that the screen can be a pita to change? what should i look out for?...and im gonna be putting my axels in, in a few days is there seals that go in the tranny ...if there is should i just replace them since i dont want any drips after i put the axels in....thanks for input!

as far as the tranny seals go, yes there are 2 of them. One for each axle, Ill assume it would be a great idea to change them since you are replaceing the axles as well as the fluid, and filter. Im about to replace both axles and tranny filter myself, so update me on how the filter change goes.

If those axle seals in the tranny are not leaking, do not replace them or you will be asking for trouble. As for the tranny screen, the FSM say it doesn't need replacing but I did mine last summer and it was not difficult. Just make sure your area is clean of debris as you don't want wind to blow dust on the valve body..

Mine came out easily and no the bolts have different lengths...I think it was three different sizes.

I used OEM along with OEM tranny fluid. It doesn't shift as hard going from 1st to 2nd anymore. The filter is not expensive and want to say less than $30. Its either 6 or 7 screws.
