Air Intake Hose Problem - Urgent!

Hello dudes and dudettes,

While prepping my car for the smog in October I discovered that the air intake hose leading from the vacuum line box, as i like to call it, to the throttle body is actually ripped.

This could explain why I have pending codes for the knock sensor and for the swirl control valve.

I have attached pictures of where it is ripped.

The question is, can I replace it with what appears to be a 3" to 2.5/2.75 adapter or does it have to be stock? Thanks.

That is on my to do list but I need to know the size. Is it a 3" to 3" or a 3" to 2.75"? Any ideas?

No clue bro, I have a custom intake so I really didn't measure, pull yours off and measure it.

I measured it. And it has some retarded sizes.

2.75" on the throttle body and 3.25" on the air box connector. I knew it would be something like this.

Someone please pass the duct tape.

3" will work fine for both sides once tightened down. Real problem will be ensuring its long enough. You could also got to the junk yard and get an pen unit for probably $5. I always have a couple of these laying around.

I've got a '00 Infiniti and mine is hard as a rock. I've searched and all aftermarket ones say they will fit up to '99. No one appears to make one for a '00+. Guess I do have to go to the dealer and pay $50.

If that is definitely the route you intend to go, then call Wayne or Ray at Tricity Nissan. Get their number here www.nissanpartsasap.com and tell them you're from the .org forums.
