Details are still unclear. It appears lugnuts fell off. I adjusted suspension about 150 miles ago. Torgued the lugs Friday night before cruise night and this morning it fell off doing about 50 down the highway. The whole suspension is still togather. The axles didn't break. Hub is fine. Wheel studs are fine. They aren't stripped or broke at all. The strangest thing it almost makes me think someone tampered with it somewhere....like I say I can't e sure the wheel literally fell off like the lug nuts disappeared while driving...

Damn! If the lug nuts were loose, you would have felt some strong vibrations long before the wheel came off... Weird!!!

I felt vibrations about 30sec prior and I was less then a mile from my house. It quit so instead of stopping I figured I would go home and life the car to see the issue but I didn't make it. I almost stopped but there was no place to pull over

No they aren't mis torqued I have 3 wrenches. One is just for wheels, I checked it with another wrench they are tight, three other wheels are still tight. Front left has 0 nuts to check so I dont know fellas

Oh man, sorry to see this. I know you love your ride. At least you are ok and the damage isn't too bad. I had this happen to me years ago in a cutlass. I had just left my friends apartments and it started getting shaky when I tapped the brake, I tried to stop slowly but bam the car dropped and the front driver wheel rolled into the curb and shot straight in the air. The only thing I could think of is someone messed with my lugs. How could they all just fall off...

maybe the after market lug nuts couldn't handle the strain or something?

I think vandalism... Time for a 24/7 dashcam

I bought special titanium lugnuts for them instead of the ones they tried to sell me. I think it was some thief. But I can't know for sure it's just very strange they fell off..

these didnt fall off, maybe one but not 5....Ive never in my life heard of nuts falling off a wheel like that. I had a loose lugnut last summer and that was very very noticeable the minute I left work. Someone at some point was messing with your car

Damn thieves. Had someone try to jack my wheels off my old car. Wife took it to B-more to grab her cousin from the airport. On the way home she pulled over due to weird vibrations. Passenger side only had one lug each, and it was the locks. The front looked like the guy was trying to drill it off or something.

I hope you filed a police report. If not, do it today.

That's too bad. Someone after lug nuts, rims, or both. That could had been lots worse! Glad you're okay.

My only experience with something like this was on my dads '78 Ford truck. He got a used set of rims that had a greater offset. This one rim would walk off the hub. We never figured out why. It would run smooth as butter then start vibrating. Dad would pull over and retighten. He ended up taking a sawzall to them and scraping them. Did that so no one would pick them up and potentially get hurt.

How's the rim, btw?

Could those lugnuts be the wrong thread pitch? ie. 1.25 vs 1.50?

Threads are correct I've been running these lugs and studs with those customs for over a year and never had a issue. Threaded up fine tonight when I put stocks back on to drive it to town tomorrow and leave it at the body shop. It runs and drives like always minus the missing parts that is...like I say fellas I dont know what happened to her all I can say is its **** poor that someone would even try this act. I could have gotten killed had I been doing any speed. Insurance is paying to have it fixed and we should be back on top within a month if everything goes well. Will update tomorrow

Stocks on front. Customs on rear. Stupid yes but my suspension is set up for customs and doesn't like stocks it seems.

Sorry to see this happen. Did you end up replacing the hub? I had to replace both my front hubs and bearings after lowering my car with teins. If you are worried about buttholes tampering with your **** try to put it in a garage or get some cameras outside your house. I got cams pointing at my car right now. I had some meth heads try to open my door when I parked it in the back alley now I part my car in the front of my house where theres a street lamp and my motion sensor light points right at it. Celica stays in garage.

That's not a problem here bro. No one is stupid enough to mess with me. It stays in a locked garage when it's not with me.
