End link removal issue

So the top set of bolts on my old end link are not coming out as easily as the bottom two. I have about 2 more rotations to go but, at this point, when i turn the front bolt and hold down the rear bolt the threads spin with it. I do not have anything to cut the bolt off. Given that information, do I have another option?

End links are notorious for behaving that way. If anything, use another jack to jack up the LCA and provide more leverage for holding both sides to allow for better turning for easier removal.

I have the LCA jacked up already. I have room to turn. It is turning fine. The problem is it won't loosen because the threads turn with the bolt. I dont have enough room for the impact so I can't even try that. The impact worked great for the bottom though.

You must have stripped the rear bolt, thats why the threads turn with the bolt. Use a vise grip on the rear bolt so the bolt doesn't spin. I had to use some penetrating oil and a breaker bar to get mine off. If you can't get the bolt off because it is striped buy a small hacksaw to remove it will be a lot faster.

I already made sure the rear bolt was not spinning. The problem is the front bolt is so rusted to the threads that it spins the threads with it while the rear bolt is secure.

Anyways, I got a nut splitter and it worked...kinda. Even after I split it twice (and broke the splitter) I had to pry the pieces off. All is good and the new one is on. Thanks for input.

I always use my impacts on these nuts. My 18v snap on is huge and it still fits. Use a 8" extension with a swivel and then a short 14mm socket.

My impact did not fit and I did not have extensions or swivels that fit the impact...Only for the ratchet. The impact fit just fine on the bottom nut though.

All in all it is a simple job. As usual rust sucks!

ive replaced many seized ones at work, only easy option is to torch the nut off and hit the endlink with a hammer and it should bust off. 2nd option is get a angle grinder and grind the nut off but you risk cutting something else if you have shaky hands
