2nd Anniversary of Selling the 5.5

Well, almost, but a month or two short is close enough. I know people always say this, but I really do miss the Maxima sometimes - 6MT, VQ with Cattman headers, Z33 Track 18s, etc. Some of you might remember it, but I'll need to dig up the pictures since Photobucket sucks.

Anyway, some recent pictures of the 2011 TSX wagon that I've owned since before the Max was sold.

Here's the old Max... the memories...

A couple from Maxus in DC, 2007/2008 maybe?:

I feel ya! What are some of the biggest aspects that you miss about the max?

I hope that day doesn't come for me.

I love your new set up and esp those Faulken Tires !

Thanks, those tires are actually coming off this week because they are too loud, and no good in the wet. Picked up a set of Conti ExtremeContact DW to replace them.

I miss the power of the VQ35, all that nice torque down low, and just a V6 in general. Having a manual was nice too, but this does okay for an automatic, although it's sometimes annoying needing to get into the 5000 rpm range for it to get moving (yay VTEC). Doesn't help that it's 3800 lbs. But the MPG, chassis and handling, and interior more than make up for that, so I'm happy with this car for now.

Thanks. They brought the Accord Euro/Tourer that is available in certain parts of the world over to the US in 2011 as the TSX wagon, in limited quantities, and kept it for 2012 and 2013, but I think that's it because they are killing the TSX line from what I understand. Many enthusiasts were disappointed because they didn't bring a manual over, nor make one with AWD, or one with a V6 or even the 2.5T in the early RDX. And justifiably so. I would have been happy with any one of those.

Yeah, I think I remember seeing your car at MIR but never got to meet you. I was only there in the morning and was pretty much just catching up with DC/MD/VA people.

Oh snap I didn't know you bought the TSX Wagon. Wife and I test drove one and she wants one. I love the wheels and color.

I honestly don't miss the Maxima since I got the 9-5.

Oh and you're right, photobucket sucks now since the updates.

LOL and since there are still so many old VQ35DEs out there, I made money! Just kidding.

Thanks man, yup time flies. I think when I met up with you in Leesburg, I had just gotten the wagon and the 5.5 was still being parted out. I wonder if Albert still has my Z33 Track rims.

I honestly was on the verge of pulling the trigger on a Jetta TDI Sportwagen and went to test drive the TSX for kicks. That was a "mistake" because I ended up buying the TSX on the spot. Even though it was hard passing on the DSG transmission and turbo diesel, the quality and comfort of the interior and handling of the TSX beat the VW hands down. My only regret is not getting the Tech package with the nav, power liftgate, etc.

Photobucket blows now and I constant get the "over bandwidth" crap even though I barely post any pictures now.

He does. In fact I recently helped him swap them over to my old, now his new 4th gen. Great wheels!

I told her the only way we will buy one is with the Tech Package.

That ELS sound system is freakin' awesome. The fuel mileage is supposedly good, how is it for you?

Mileage is good, 22-24 mpg in DC traffic on my daily commute, and I've gotten as high as 34 mpg on road trips. The Tech package is well worth it, wish someone told me that when I was buying it.

Thanks. No second/third car for a while unfortunately.

And here's a quick cell phone picture I snapped on Saturday:

Good thing you passed on the VW for the Acura as the engine would have triple outlived the rest of the car.

So no plans for Hondata (or is it available for yours)?

That might give you an extra 10-20hp/tq in the midrange perhaps, and help out around town power too? Just curious...

LOL so true. The DSG and turbo disel were tempting though...

Not for the 2011+ TSX ECUs. Besides, and this is a matter of personal preference, power mods on a 200 hp NA 4-banger are a waste of money unless you get into FI. Fortunately, these cars are pretty well balanced in terms of chassis and suspension in stock form, and suspension mods make it that much more fun to drive.

It's just an illusion because of the way the sheet metal is cut. It is actually shorter and smaller than the Maxima. You can sort of tell by looking at the proportion of the rear door to the trunk. If I had a 300 whp WRX I wouldn't miss the Max either.
