Transmission Oil Pan
Transmission Oil Pan
I just drained the tranny fluid on my 2000. It has 155K miles. I live in Utah and the car does get rust on the underside due to difficult winters.
I noticed the entire transmission oil pan is rusted. It actually looks like the rust is winning the battle. Has anyone feared their pan may rust through? I don't know how thick these pans are; a new one is $38 plus gasket. For sake of my conscious, I might just replace it but thought I'd ask if others have seen rust but that it hasn't even been a problem, or if they know if the OEM pan is very thick.
