Shift Linkage issue After Transmission Change?

2000 5Speed A33

I had the input shaft failure problem and i swapped out my old tranny for a new one out of a 4th gen maxima and the shifter itself is super tight and theres no play in it at all it kinda pops out of first gear and 5th gen i guess cuz of the shifter issue could this be the shifter Rods??? Or what? Need some help

isnt there an adjustment on the rod? Its clearly way too far forward

No idea at all i dont see anything anywhere that can be adjustable
