Keep or Sell

Hey guys, I am sort of new here. I own 2000 that was passed down to me by my dad. I have a question and if you could text me at 774-571-1635 or just reply that would be great.

Ok my car has 245k highway miles. It has alittle body rot/rust near the rear left and right and a spot in the driver door and one by the front quarter panel. The engine needs a tune up and oil change and ignition coils and sparks... I am wondering if this is all worth fixing up or if i should sell it for somthing else if u want pictures i can send them to you upon request!
Thanks for your help,
Armani

It's not bad looking. See if anyone bites at that price. I'd be shocked if they do, but see what you get. I'd personally list is at $1950. Looks so much cheaper to the eye.

If you are a broke student, why are you dumping money into a old car ... Just drive it into the ground until it stalls on the side of the road

Hard to tell you what to do because we have no idea of your situation. Do you have money to blow on a new car and all that comes with it - a monthly payment, instant depreciation, higher insurance? Or do you have money to spend fixing this one up? Do you need something completely reliable? Are you mechanically inclined to be able to do a lot of the fixing up yourself?

Everyone is different but if you enjoy the car, like working on it then get some estimates on body work and repairs because nothing sucks the life out of your bank account more than a new car payment.

Makes sense, you're a student.

i want one with a manual but idrc i would even trade i just want a car that i can take to a show and drive to school
These are conflicting interests for your status. I.E., "you can't have your cake and eat it too."

Did you get richer in the last 3 minutes? Not broke and not steadily employed. I'm confused.

Duuuuhhhhh! That's KM. It's much more shocking when it's in miles.

Plus that's like a 170,000 miles.

Awesome. I just have no clue why you're telling me this. You clearly did not pick up on the humor and I'm not the one questioning the mileage capability of a Maxima.

But thanks for sharing.

Let's lift it's virtual spirit.

400k on some members rides in here? That's absolutely amazing if you ask me. We should start a thread and get some of them to tell us about THEIR cars. That's gotta be a pretty elite club.

I remember reading a thread months ago about a dad having the car since new and passing it down to his son. It was a black 5th gen auto original engine and tranny... Had a few pictures of the car and a odometer picture with 400k and some change. Very impressive

Was that the kid from GA where his dad passed away?

Either way, really impressive. Not too many cars can make multiple 400k claims.
