Before and After shots of MaxSpeed Springs.

Yes, For those of you who have been dying to see them. Ive been getting numerous amount of mail for before and after shots. Well here there are, nice in a neat little page for ALL you people to take a look see.

http://bigdogjonx.gixxer.com/maxspeed.html

These are the best pictures I could dig up from my library of pictures I took. As you can see the drop is a good amount, unlike what people KEEP saying it is not. The front is for sure at least a 1.5" drop, I measured and got a 1.7" drop. The back only dropped about 1". These are all measured about 3weeks after the install to allow to the springs to settle.

Ride quality once again is almost stock (SE suspension is what I had before). I have it currently with my stock struts. So far no problems, squeaking, or noises. I have put over 7k miles on these Springs already. So I say, they are fine and great for a price of $95.

Exhaust is nice, got it from autoperformance@alltel.net. He was selling a rack of them on eBay. I know he does not sell them anymore but might be able to ask him, his name is Bryan.

The exhaust is even nicer now that I got that Testpipe (Straight pipe) installed last night.

I am going to get a powertech 4" single tip with full custom cat-back Monday, but I was wondering if you like the way the muffler sounds. For example, how loud is it and is it a deep throaty sound?

Thanks,
Daniel

The muffler sounds very nice and deeeeep. Not Ricey. Listen to it at www.geocities.com/dsuthar/exhaust then click on the revving.mpg.

ItalianMax, The wheels are 17". They look larger because the car is now lowered, and also there is no lip so it from the outside the diameter is almost 19s.

LOL, it's funny. You block out your license plate number on your signature, but you don't on the pics you post.

looked at your pictures

is there any reason to be concerned about water in your homemade intake? I'd think a good puddle could mean another "performance mod" but in the wrong direction.

Wont have any problems with that. I know alot about how real Cold Air Intakes work and saw alot of tests done on water issues. It will never be able to pickup water to the level of getting it into the engine unless I sit in 1' of water.

DLOVE, the exhaust cost me $120. The guy was really cool to sell it to me for that price. Excellent quality.

wheel gap

Your before wheel gap looks large. you didn't happen to measure your wheel gap before you dropped did you? I think I figured it out, what size tires are you running with what size rims. They are smaller than stock right?

How easy was the spring install?? Looks like MAXspeed it the way to go!

Unfortunately I did not measure, but guess what, you can measure, and I can measure, then we got exact numbers. The tires are the same before and after the spring install, so it should not make a different.

I got 235/45/17s

The spring install took me and my boy 3hrs. The fronts are easy, the back is trick due to where the two "top" bolts are. You will need a "swivel-joint" for your ratchet to get to it. Then you set.

Oh yeah need a STRUT-SPRING compressor, not a spring compressor, a STRUT spring compressor, a standard spring compressor compresses from the inside, cant do that with our struts since they are already in the middle of the spring, need the two things that go on each side of the spring that you can compress from the outside. Free rental at AUTOZONEs and many other autostores

God no not $95 a spring. $110 shipped to my door all 4 springs. My GF would have a fit with me if I bought it for $400. I would have to somehow justify $400 in clothes that she bought that week, since she didn't, I would have a problem.

thanks,

If i did my math right the 235/45/17's are 1/2 inch smaller in diameter than the stock 225/50/17's. That would increase your wheel gap 1/4", but also make your car 1/4" lower to the ground.

I gotta get some springs..

Not 1/2 smaller, no way. Damn you right, it is .6" smaller in diameter. Son of a......... thats alright, need new tires soon, I will be getting 245/45/17 this time. Make it almost right on then.

smaller tires

lots of people here run lower profile tires. I guess its not enough to mess up your spedo?

Any install pics on the springs. I like that "yellow" thing you got goin on. Looks good with the black. I wish the maxspeed's came in other colors.
