Exedy & Fidanza VS JWT clutch and flywheel

Abandoning my old thread about the Exedy clutch and starting this one. If you have either one of these setups, please let me know your thoughts on it. Looking to replace my clutch and figure I would do the flywheel at the same time. I know some people have suggested the 350z option, and I hear you, but thats on the back burner right now. For all the positive responses I have gotten for the Edexy clutches, I have seen just as many negative. Im leaning towards the JWT, but I cant seem to locate anyone with the clutch and the flywheel who has given any opinion on them. My car is a DD and only has bolt on modifications like the spacer kit.

Thanks in advance!

which 350z option? The flywheel or clutch? I have a spec flywheel (fwd version, NOT a 350z flywheel) with OEM 350z pressure plate and disc. Been an excellent combination for me. Unless you are boosting your car an OEM clutch is a great choice.

350z clutch was what I was talking about.

No plans on boosting by the way. Just intake and exhaust mods.

So, I keep researching and researching. What about the 350z with the Fidanza OR the JWT flywheel? Any of those combos out there that would like to voice an opinion?

Ive had a JWT flywheel for over 3 1/2 yrs now,no issues to report. It was mated with a cf df clutch at same time also no issues. It would be wise to replace the slave and master clutch cyl at same time especially if your pushing high mileage

Forgot to mention, make sure you get the vq35 flywheel for maxima 6spd not 350z, i bekieve that there is a difference in overall plate thickness. Got to love the replaceable friction ring disc though.

the difference is the timing ring offset. the issue isn't the teeth on the flywheel 124vs125, its the spacing of the timing ring, the crank pos sensor cant read the flywheel so you would have to cut the transmission housing to move the sensor.

the teeth on the flywheel is also an issue, if not when you first install it then a year down the line when the grinding on start turns into no start.

It doesnt really matter though, there are enough choices for FWD application that there is no point going with a 350z flywheel unless you plan to get an ultralight race flywheel that would be a giant headache to drive on the street
