2012 Maxima Heated Seats

Got a great deal on a 2012 Maxima Sport in March. The car was just left over on the lot, brand new. Started using the heated seats with frequency since the weather changed in Upstate New York. It seems like the seats don't get that warm. I previously owned two Altimas with heated seats and the difference is noticeable.

Is there something wrong with my seats? Or is this normal? Thanks

I have seen occasional posts over the last five years describing these 7th gen heated seats as not quite as warm as some other cars. Having driven nothing but Maximas for over 29 years, I can't speak to the comparison with other makes of cars.

I know my wife and I are perfectly satisfied with the heating in these seats, but then we live south of Atlanta, where too much heat is the major problem. Of course, even as I say that, both my outside thermometers are currently reading 29, and will probably reach 26 by dawn. But this is unusually cold for this date. The low will be back in the mid-40s within a few days.

Maybe someone else here that lives up your way can better answer your question.

It was 26 degrees this morning and the seat and the steering wheel was quite toasty. In fact, once they warmed up I turned them off. The seat has a high/low setting but I have never used the low.

One thing to remember, if the heated seat ever fails to operate and the problem is in the seat it will not be repaired under the Nissan Security+Plus® Gold Preferred warranty as they are part of the seat. How do I know? My lumbar support went out and I was told tough-$hitsky, it is part of the seat and the seat is not covered.

Same with my 2011 Max SV. On the lowest setting its not really noticeable. Really have to pick the setting up higher for the heating to be felt.

I've been driving around with the heated seats on for the last few very cold days and can report that mine heat up fast and I have to turn it down it is so warm.
Side note: the greatest thing ever invented is the heated steering wheel. This is my first car to have it and I absolutely gush about it.
Either you are wearing thick clothing or your seats aren't working properly. Good luck!
