What do you guys think???
I just got back in the states from deployment but i been browsing this site for info, opinions, etc as well as local dealerships and Carmax. I found this car at one of the Nissan Delaerships according to the Carfax Report its been on the lot since September 26th I'm wondering if i wait a week or 2 when it gets closer to the end of the month if they'll budge on the price of if they will even budge now ( Im not good at negotiating with cars, everything else I'm comfortable negotiating..doesnt make sense i know) anyways enough ranting here's the info for the car.
$25,998
2012 CPO Maxima SV w/Premium Package, Clean Carfax, 5k Miles
, Panoramic Sunroof, Navigation, Back-up Camera, Leather, 11 months/31k miles left for the Bumper to Bumper Warranty, 7 Year/100,000 mile power train Warranty, It says the previous owner was a Corporate Fleet.
I guess thats all the info ya'll should need unless i left some other important info/options out.

What you dont want to do is let the saleman know what monthly payments you can afford. Once he knows that you are screwed. Best way is with cash on the barrel head.
If the window sticker is 26K offer 23K and show up with that amount in 100 dollar bills, slap it on his desk, he will probably crap his pants with a smile, shake your hand and hand over the keys. Well maybe. Waiting until the end of the month could net you a better deal as they would want to unload it by year end.
Negotiating is just a process of give and take. you are trying to get the most from him by giving up the least. You could also negoitiate an aftermarket extended warranty into the deal.
good luck, sound like a great car with very low miles.
Also thank you for your service.

No problem I'm proud to serve in the military. We'll i don't have the cash but I'm already pre-approved through Navy Federal this guy has been texting me and i been replying telling him that i just got back 2 days ago and i just started looking around. He knows I'm already pre-approved but he acts like they not budging from that $25,998 he hasn't said anything about monthly payments but i did tell him i wanted to stay closer to 24k he said he would talk to his manager but i haven't heard anything back from him. If he lets it go for 24k it's gonna be sold today but i wanna kinda see if i can get 24k and tell him the deal breaker would be the rear spoiler ( i really want to add the rear spoiler but I'm not trying to pay 500$ for it, i just like the overall look with the spoiler on the car)
I agree the spoiler completes the look I would look for the sv models the option and tire and rim package is hands down the best and completes the car . I have a 2011 sv I just purchased for $24000 with 19000 miles and it's gorgeous , fast and handles like a dream .
I love the car but they spoiler def completes the look…I'll see if i can work some magic I'm really not in a rush to buy a car but if the car is there the day after Christmas i'll make him a offer around 25k if he can hook it up with a spoiler if he does i guess i just bought me a new car lol
What interest rate did you get through the Navy ?
Go to Truecar.com.
You can probably grab a new 2013 Premium for about $28K and with 0% financing for 5 years.
id pick out the car you definitely want, and walk in on the last day of the year and give him a low ball offer. walk out on whatever they first offer you, they'll chase you down and give you a better offer just to move a car off the lot.
What do u think about the Technology Package do u think it has it?? The only thing the dealer advertises about it is 2012 Nissan Maxima SV w/Premium Package and Navigation. How do i tell if it has the Technology package as well, i know it has the 7" touch screen Navigation, Sat Radio. Is there anything else i can look for to see if it has the Premium and Tech Package?
Are you a USAA member? if so log onto the USAA website and search engine for "AUTO CIRCLE". Find the car you want.
The USAA price is marked down, and only certain dealers participate in this program. Print the certificate for the dealer that participates, and that the price you pay for the car....no hassle!!!
Bought my Camaro SS fully loaded that dealer had for $43K...out the door from the auto circle at $36K.....
No kidding!!!!!!!
You can also use USAA financing, or other banking........

The price the Dealership is advertising on the website is the same price as the USAA price. When i talked to them the other day all the sales guy said he could do is 250$ off the price for active duty military. I didn't test drive it or anything maybe i should go back to test drive it just to see if i even like it and to get them more interested in selling it. I feel like if i can get it for $24500-25000k and they throw in a spoiler i'll get it.

Not sure what the USAA price is you are refferring to so maybe Truecar is cheaper
Most people would consider offering $28K for a car that stickers at over $40 K low balling at an extreme.
If you want to go lower than the Truecar price fine but why not get the price since it takes 5 minutes and you know 100 % you can buy at that price.

no you're right its a great place to start, just realize you have more angles as well. time the car has been on lot, time of year, etc. end of year is the BEST time to buy a car hands down. end of the quarter is second best, end of the month close 3rd.
All dealers are different. I offered $32.500 for my new car and was told an outright no way, lowest he would go was $33,333, hard to forget that #
Priced the same car through True car and the same dealer sold me the same exact car for $32,095
I was told the internet dept and walk in sales are not related and the floor guys have to make more $$ on the car than the internet guys do where volume rules
You can always negotiate the price below the Auto Circle, but it wont be much since this is already below the stealership purchase cost of the vehicle.
If you have great credit, then you are smooth sailing. If not and you chose the dealer finance, they will get you on the tail end to make up their loses with a higher finance......
I used USAA financing, and had them send wire-check directly to Stealership.
Go USAA all the way... print off that certficate....go get the car that matches the certificate.....contact USAA for financing (this should be done first)......and drive out within 1 hour!!!!!!!
Its a game they play. Same dealership was offering a lower interest rate, but a longer payment term #catchNumber1#.....
GL!!!!!!

Well i leave California on the 27th to go home to Virginia on leave for 2 weeks since i just came back from deployment. I guess i'll go back to the dealership on the 24th if they are open or the 23rd and go test drive it and try to work something out. But are you guys with me that it should have the Tech package as well since it has the Navigation? Is there anything i can look for to make sure it has the Tech package or does the Navigation pretty much say it right there? Im hoping i can make it happen before i leave since i feel i got the leverage.

It's your cash but if you get the Nissan 0% you can a buy a brand new 2013 Premium tech for less than that used 2012
The Navigation means it has the tech package as 90% of the package is the navigation. You do lose the 6 disk Cd player but I doubt that matters

Everytime a banking inst runs your credit, it drops your score. If you are still searching for financing, then do them (banks) all the same day as they see the same score. As the days goes on, the numbers drops.
Used Maxima with a Nav can indicate it was installed by owner then, and doesnt indicate a Tech package - saw one this year. If stealer received car with nav from plant, then most likey you have Tech package - unless special ordered.
Which car you get depends on how much you want your monthly (do you have a DEEEEEeeeeep pocket, or fluffy on the lids???), is you call, your payments....
...Buy hard with a smile and dont look back!!!!! Once you look back, it maybe too late and costly to correct.

lol it does hurt to try Unfortunately and unfairly you take a hit if you keep running your credit.
To the op the car has low miles(its new basically) so it might be hard for you to get it lower but at the same time its the end of the year! Best thing to do is hustle them. Tell em you found a good deal somewhere else and thank them for helping you out. Bluff. Walk away. Its hard for me to tell you what method to try without being there. It's all a game to them.
I get about 15 credit cards per year every year and use them for free hotels and flights. I fly 6 times a year and haven't paid for a flight since 2005.
This year I got 15 credit cards and two 0% car loans.
Credit inquiries are a small blip on your credit and certainly worth the risk vs reward of a 0% car loan IMO
- According to FICO, one credit inquiry will reduce the average person's score by less than five points.
- Credit scores ignore all inquiries made in the 30 days previous to the report being generated, so do not worry about the effects of previous inquiries when rate
shopping. In addition, multiple inquiries made within a short time period are only treated as one inquiry. The time period is 14 or 45 days, depending on which FICO scoring model the lender uses.

I don't believe 81 days is long for a new car on a large lot..... Some dealers play games and serve up a price you cant refuse knowing they will make money on the loan - negotiate a firm selling price and shop for your auto loan privately - keep your mouth shut about the private loan while locking in your price and look into deposits so they are committed to the transaction....
