Manual shifts

Hey guys. I just picked up my new 2013 Sport and when shifting manually I notice the shifts are as quick and crisp as my 2009 premium. I hope this isn't how this new model is.

I think he meant "aren't" as crisp.

Yes. Are not as quick and crisp.

They changed the valve body in the CVT around 2011. That could be the difference. I have a 2010 and had my valve body changed due to high revs/no power when the pedal was pressed... but I never use manual mode so I have no comparison between the old and new in that regard.

The whole reason I loved my last Max is because manual mode was quick and snappy. The new car seems like there is a delay from shift inputs. Has anyone else experienced this?

Bump. Anyone experiencing this on newer models?

Give it some time to break in first or warm up?
I don't have another Maxima to compare my 2012 Sport to, but for me, at lower speeds, it is a bit "mushy", and at higher speeds and higher revs, it is very quick and "snappy".
Or, just drive another car (not your new Maxima) to another dealer, and ask to take a test drive on their models.

I have an 09 SV sport/tech and just got my car back from the dealer after receiving a new CVT. I would agree with the OP as my manual mode has a very slight delay as well. Although I rarely ever used it with my old transmission I can notice the difference. It's a small price to pay for getting a new and updated transmission I suppose. Everything else about the new CVT is better than the old on in my opinion.
