Wheel Bands/Rim Ringz??

Has anyone tried these? They seem like a cool accessory in theory as far as protection goes and I'm thinking of getting a set of black ones for my Maxi since I have some curb rash on the wheels and this would cover that up along with Plasti Dip peeling that may occur. Thoughts??

I may even try to make these myself with half round rubber cord and 3M backing.

Wheel Bands installation tips

Here's a Nissan guy who wrote up a step-by-step install guide for the Wheel Bands.

]

Here' the Wheel Bands info for installing over Plasti-Dip.

The Wheel Bands install time is under an hour. Not sure on the half round rubber and 3M tape idea. Soft rubber is still hard to bend in an arc to match the wheel and it will grind right off like skin when rubbing on anything. And you have to find a way to hold the end joint together without flying apart at highway speeds.

The self interlocking (joint reinforced) hard plastic material in Wheel Bands is more like tough leather in comparison. Tape on Wheel Bands can be driven off down the highway right after installation. Most other 3M tapes require a day or two of cure time before driving off above 40MPH.
