Is there a certain temp the compressor stops working?

It is extremely cold here in NY. This is the first time I noticed the compressor not kicking in. Before you say "duh" take note that I never noticed it before...Thanks for the answers in advance

Yes, around 30-35 deg.

If you turn on the defrost you should see the compressor kick on regardless of outside temp.

Asand1, that did not work. Temp is 30 and the compressor just kicked in. So i would say around 25° could be the warning spot.
