A few questions from a new i30t owner

I recently purchased an Infiniti i30t.

I had a few questions.

1. If i find springs or intake that would fit a 1998 Maxima 3.0L would it work in my car?

2. I took apart and cleaned out my intake and now my CEL light is on, I am having my code read tomorrow but I'm pretty sure its related to a sensor that doesn't feel to plugged in.

It's highlighted in the picture below.

I have looked over some infiniti/nissan parts sites and cannot find this sensor that's on the intake duct BEFORE the air filter. I understand that the MAF is after the filter but before the throttle body, but what is this?

3. Is there anything I can do to block air going into the lower baffle/resonator? I'd rather the engine use all the air it can get with the current weak intake. I don't need it to be quit. It seems like a waste of good air.

1) springs are the same in the Infiniti and the Maxima. Ditto for the intake.

2) That part is the IATS - Intake Air Temperature Sensor. If it is causing a problem, you will get a P0105.

3) Never messed with that. Don't know.

If you don't have and would like to download the Infiniti FSM (Factory Service Manual), you can get it from here:

3). Leave the stock intake in the car. It will provide the best throttle response and performance for a daily driver, especially if it's an automatic.
