Driver's Seat 2010 Maxima

I have had my driver's seat replaced a couple years ago because of the rocking motion that appears to be an issue for the 7th generation Maxima, specifically my 2010. Anyway, the warranty expired and I had informed the dealership that I feel it should be replaced because this is an issue that plagues the Maxima. Of course they said there is nothing they can do about it. I know it is probably a long shot but has anyone ever pushed the issue and contacted Nissan directly? If you have, what was the outcome?

I found Nissan consumer affairs to be pretty much worthless. They just repeat what the dealer said or tell you to go to another dealer. Regardless give them a call. Perhaps you will have better luck. You have nothiing to lose. Let us know how they respond.

My 13 is going in the shop Tuesday as they ordered the seat frame to fix this under warranty. He said there is a tsb on this. At only 17,000 miles my driver seat is rocking badly.

So Nissan has this problem in 2010's and does not do anything about it so it is still happening in the 2013 models. Maybe they figure if they ignore the problem it will go away. This does not bode well for my 2014.

I suspect there will always be a problem with the rocking motion of the driver's seat. If it does get replaced again, I'm sure a year later it will develop again. I have not yet called Nissan directly but I am betting they will not do anything about it. I had luck with my last vehicle a Jeep Grand Cherokee and called Chrysler directly and I received a couple checks from them but this is a different car company now. I'll let you know the outcome.
