Passenger rear door actuator

2014 Max with 1500 miles, pax rear door ceased to function. The power remote moves the lock mechanism, but the handle doesn't do anything, from inside or out.

Interestingly, when I Googled the problem, it shows that this has been a problem on Nissans going back almost 20 years. The autofill for "maxima passenger rear door" is "doesn't open". And it includes Muranos on the first page of search.

Appointment tomorrow. When I called, Dave (the service writer) said, "Probably the actuator." They prolly done one or two of them before.

You're still under warranty so I'd just take it in. Hope they fix that all for you.

I dunno, I took it to the dealer under warranty. The part is on backprder, I'm driving an Altima right now. It reinforces my choice to have purchased the Maxima: smaller, with cheap hard plastic everywhere.

Hopefully you get your car back quickly.

At times it takes us driving other cars to appreciate ours even more.

FWIW, the right rear door lock electrics were never connected on my 2013 SV. The 1st owner never noticed in their 11 months of driving! When I purchased the car I had it fixed by the Nissan dealer right away.

I suspect the lock electrical connector came off when the door inards were installed at Nissan Tennessee. Why it stayed un-noticed for almost a year or even at the original PDI done in Quebec is beyond me.

Why did you have to get an Altima.... its not like this would cripple the vehicle.

The car was apart with the door open when they discovered that the wrong part had been delivered. Thankfully it came this morning and I had my wheels by noon!
