Black accenting for Crimson black suggestions?

I want to do some accenting, anyone have suggestions? So far, I painted my chrome boot lid trim/handle with black plasti-dip and my license plate frame. The trim/handle has me thinking a bit.. I sometimes regret getting Crimson black because its hard to accent it clean and not looking riced. The taillights could probably use something, not 100% murdered. Some chrome/black/red combos? Ugghhh.. White and Silver are the best for nice accents ti really make the car's lines stand out like for instance a user named Ghozt, that car is sexy.

I think both the Super Black and Crimson Black look good and contrast very well with the chrome accents/trim that comes with this car. The only part I covered is the huge chrome piece on the trunk as it didn't match well with the tail tint. I used some 3M carbon fiber vinyl and it turned out well without looking too "ricer" as you say.
It seems to scratch easy so I'll probably end up clear-coating it.
I know many here like the blacked-out look and I do to but like you mentioned the lighter colored cars do better with the darker accents IMOP.

I have a Crimson Black myself and you're right it's easy to make it look too "ricey". I've gone the smokey route rather than the blacked out route and am happy with that....still classy. I've kept my trim chrome since as my man said above it died contrast well and I will be partially painting my door handles this weekend to match but keeping part chrome too.

The chrome does look nice but at times it seems too much to me, maybe a black chrome would look nice? Idk though. Also I absolutely hate the stock 18" wheels on the car.. it really throws it off IMO. I've seen some photos with the 19s of the 370 and that looks so much better, really the concave is what has me diggin' it. Also attaching a pic of what I painted in a minute.

True. I don't like 18s myself either but I have the 19s and actually darkened those too from the silver they were! Along with painting my door handles I am going to black out the lower window trim I believe and leave the upper window trim. I've take some chrome out here and there, like the grille for instance...blacked out the border but left the Nissan emblem chrome since I do want to somewhat leave an OEM look to it.

You mind showing me what you did to your grill? I just actually took it off 10 minutes ago all the pieces disassembled. I read how it was hard taking it out.. I just removed the plastic cover where the air comes in (by the hood latch) and I had no hard time one bit detaching the clips, did top first an then the bottom pretty much came out all on its own.

Did you use any plastidip glossifier? I'm also using plasti-dip spray cans.

Haha yes....sport model! No glossifier since I wanted the upper grille to match the matte/plastic lower grille.

I think the black chrome (PVD) wheels would look great. I had contemplated having a set of wheels done and may still do so at sometime in the future.

Has anyone happened to ever just paint the border of grill black? I'm trying to experiment.. possibly do the vents black and leave some areas stock finish silver/aluminum.

What do you guys think about blacking out just the lower window trim and heaving the upper portion chrome? I feel like I've seen this on other cars and although it's a slight alteration it could create a different look!

You can try the bottom like Tommy said, I personally thought of it but don't think it'd work out like doing the whole trim..

I would say, go for it. It'll create a silhouette look of the car, and bring emphasis to the roofline of the car. Going the full blackout trim on the window will look odd, considering the lack of contrast considering the color of your car.

Now the question is......

What is the best way to get this lower chrome trim off? Just pry it off?

Didn't want to wipe out all of my chrome but did want to achieve a silhouette effect as someone mentioned above. Also keep in mind that after this coming weekend my lower 2/3 of my door handles will be Crimson Black to match the car.

I was wondering if there are any door handle inserts because I hate the scratches from nails..

Yes, 3M and such make the clear film cups to protect under the door handles.

I saw this on a couple of pre-owned Maximas on the lot, and it looks really distracting to me. Over time due to the circular shape of the film, the outline of the film becomes more pronounced as dirt, water, etc. gets trapped along the ridge and makes a black outline. Even with a fresh install, the cutout is still very noticeable to me. If you need some spot correction in tight areas such as behind the door handle, apply some Meguiar's ScratchX onto a foam applicator and buff in a straight line. It will take those scratches out in one pass as they are barely on the surface of the paint.

I would at least peel the emblem back to chrome....it keeps that OEM look intact.
