7th generation throttle body spacer
7th generation throttle body spacer
i have seen and heard about tb spacers help increase HP by reducing the air temp going in and some claim it creates a tornado vortex ... wich is it ? .. i can not understand how possible this can be ... maybe i'm wrong ... i'm new at this with jap cars but was crazy with my camaros and corvettes .. i'm old school .. i know today it's all about the software but years ago it was the hardware... i still can't understand why young people put these short air intake under the hood .. it looks good and sounds good but to me is no good due to the fact it sucks up all the hot air from the engine .... the car manufacture would have sold these type of filters on sport cars if they were any good .... correct my if i'm wrong .... thanks

Its pointless on a 7th gen engine since the intake manifold is made of a composite plastic.
A throttle body spacer (no vortex nonsense, just a spacer) is a part of NWP's intake manifold spacer set which is used to decrease intake manifold temperatures since the intake manifold is made out of cast aluminum on the 02-08 Maxima VQ35's.

To make a true CAI it usually takes so much more tubing that it eliminates any gains that people think they are getting and then they run the risk of sucking up water.
SRI FTW IMHO.
The factory snorkel is actually cold air, but it just has baffles and extra routing to quiet it down~which causes a bit of a restriction.
So you aren't wrong, but not 100% right either.
I believe factories don't come with cone filters and little to no intake tubing because cone filters get dirty faster from what I've noticed and are loud.
Most buyers want a car they don't even have to remember to change the oil in, not to mention the filter; and most also don't want excessive engine noise.
Old people.
im a big fan of the intake and t.b. spacer kit, yeah you wont see as big temp reductions since the manifold is plastic but you still increase runner length so more room for air. everyone who has gotten them across the board has said you can feel the power gains - the whole kit though dunno anyone who just did a t.b. spacer
