What's up Kev. What exactly is this thing for. Is it only to break the speed limiter? Is this thing like a chip or something?

Here's some info: http://www.rev-industries.com/apexih...speedmeter.htm

Not a chip, just a device to monitor and measure stuff.

Also how hard are they to set up looking at your pics again I want them. So it's sort of like a g-tech pro only better.

How easy is it to install one of those things? A lot of wiring or is that not an issue?

Usually, if you can install a stereo, you can handle that kind of thing.

Yeah, it's a G-tech, but hooked up to your speed signal and rev signal (better).

Apex doesn't give instructions on which wire to splice or cut, so you either have too look it up in a service manual or I can post a diagram when someone gets one.

Wiring was simple (if you knew which ones to splice/cut).

Do A/T to M/T Swap, have problems with the M/T, find metal shavings in the gear oil, swap tranny back to A/T. Master cylinder was leaking, and did the rebuild, drank tons of coffee, drank beer, finished this morning, and bax-global picks up tranny to get rebuild and cryo-treated. My last 15 hours have sucked.

I cut out my ashtray so the RSM would fit. Some metal work and 4 rivets to hold down the Apexi bracket, I had a flip out RSM tray
S-AFC I had mounted on my steering column, played with it a few days, and thats about it. Sold it to Kev, and now he's pimpin it on his car.
After reading this again, how in the world did you get the RSM to fit there?

after seeing ur pics, i guess if u decide to lose ur ashtray completely and some of ur dash pieces next to it, it looks like u could just stack up both units on top of each other...but then, it's kinda hard to see the readings if the units are so low...especially at 130mph..

I couldn't stand hacking the interior.

Well, it does keep the highest number in its memory.

Just need to splice 5-6 wires to your ECU harness. I have a diagram of which wires to splice/cut.

It tweaks the speed signal to your ECU (cut your speed signal wire and hook the ends up to the device). Yes, it also acts as a supped up G-Tech, but it does way more that the G-Tech (I have a G-Tech also).

It won't help you go any faster, slowpoke.

I'm too lazy to do all that.

Kev, you lazy bum, took me 40 minutes to do from the idea to whipping out the dremel, rivet, and glue it. I actually had wedged the bracket upside down where the ash tray is, and hung the RSM from there. Then I made the hidden housing.
Matt is slow no matter what he does to his car.

3M velcro + empty spot = mounted RSM

Hey kev,

Does the Apexi mounting bracket fit into the air conditioner vents somehow? I saw a pic of the RSM w/mounting bracket in the AC vents of a car. Maybe that'll work for us??? And I know that the older RSM comes with the wiring diagram in the manual since I hooked the older Apexi RSM up to a 98 Max over the summer. Is our car too new for the included manual?
