Unhappy '09 3G Ipod Touch won't connect

Hey guys, first post here. Recently purchased my '09 just a few days ago and noticed an issue with the Ipod connecter/interface. I searched to no avail.

So, basically my '09 came with the connector cable (non-usb). For some reason it wont recognize the ipod at all. I've tried everything from inserting, re-inserting, car on/off, ipod on/off, etc. It's simply not detecting my 3G Ipod touch.

First I thought it might be the firmware, so I checked that out...I believe it's iOS 5.xx, so the most current release, right?

So, after no luck there, I began to think the cable might have just gone bad?? Has anyone experienced this particular issue with a '09 and 3G Ipod? Possibility that I might just need a new cable?

Or perhaps the latest firmware has basically bricked the Ipod?? Im at a loss

Thanks ahead of time!

I have an 09 too and I plug my iphone 5 up to it using the non usb connector. For the 3g Ipod im pretty sure you have to buy a small adapter to connect to the cord which allows it to charge and play. Even then it still has it's moments where it wont connect and 5 seconds later it just connects.
This is the one I bought.

I have a 2010 SV and had the same problem with mine. Turns out the iPod connector in the console was the issue. I took it to the dealer and they replaced the part. The previous owner had broke it and didn't want to pay for the repair. Of course I had to wait for the part to be ordered as they don't have them on the shelf. It took about 3 days for the part to come in, and the work was covered under warranty.

Yeah, but the '10 model has the usb connection, right? Yours broke internally? Not the cable, right??

Yes I have a USB cable. I had to re-read your post. I had a 2010 Murano that used a non USB cable for the iPod, if that's what you need I think I might still have one. The only problem is that I won't be able to check for sure until 2 Oct when I go back to my house in KS. If you haven't fixed your problem by then shoot me a pm.

Max-

Thanks for the offer. At this point, I think it's either the cord, or possibly the actual connector in the console.

Kind of frustrating...

On second thought, does anyone know if there is an Ipod > usb connection that would basically allow me to use another device...such as an android phone??
